First time making this recipe, and I doubled it. They taste delicious, but they were flat and did not raise much.

I have used this recipe for years. Butter has water in it, some brands have more water than others which will make cookies flat. I use 1/2 shortening and 1/2 butter and chill in the fridge before baking. The cookies turn out great!

This recipe works great with the King Arthurs 1:1 measure flour for Gluten Free cookies. They bake perfectly and taste wonderful 😋

While they taste really good, my cookies came out very flat. I bought all new flour and baking soda so it can’t be that. Added extra flour as well. Still tasty though!

Hi! I haven’t yet baked these cookies persay but the recipe sounds right—my Mom used to bake these Tollhouse cookies regularly, & I got hooked on them as a child; they were SO Good!! Since I live by myself, i think I’ll HALF the recipe just to try….it’s been decades since I had them.

In reply to Connie Sturgeon. It's because when you 2x the recipe it doesn't update what's in the italics as the end of the ingredients list, it's just an issue with the recipe card plugin that I use, so go with the main ingredient listing
